- Install the mount and the mount bracket onto the vehicle and position
in place.
- Apply thread lock compound GM P/N 12345493 or equivalent,
to the rear transmission bracket bolts.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the retaining
bolts to the mount bracket (1).
Tighten
Tighten the retaining bolts to 63 N·m (46 lb ft).
- Install the transmission
mount lower bolts and nut onto the mount.
Tighten
Tighten the mount bolts and nut to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Install the transmission mount upper nuts (1) onto the
mount.
Tighten
Tighten the mount nuts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
- Remove the transaxle support stand.
- Install the power steering return hose onto the rack and pinion.

- Install the power steering pressure hose onto the rack and pinion.

- Install the power steering gear heat shield. Refer to

- Lower the vehicle.
