Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  2. Pull back the carpet near the blower motor.

  3. Object Number: 291175  Size: SH
  4. Remove the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  5. Remove the Dash Integration Module (DIM) from bracket.
  6. Remove the two rear DIM bracket screws.
  7. Reposition the DIM bracket to allow for removal of the blower motor.

  9. Disconnect the electrical connector (2) from the blower motor.
  10. Remove the blower motor retaining screws (1).

  11. Object Number: 422273  Size: SH
  12. Lower the blower motor and rotate counter clockwise to remove from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the blower motor. Blower motor will need to be rotated to install into the housing.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the blower motor retaining screws (1).
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the screw to 1.4 N·m (12 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector (2) to the blower motor.

  7. Reposition the DIM bracket to its original position.
  8. Install the two rear DIM bracket screws.
  9. Install the DIM into the bracket.
  10. Install the IP compartment. Refer to Instrument Panel Storage Compartment Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
  11. Reposition the carpet.
  12. Install the right side sound insulator. Refer to Instrument Panel Insulator Panel Replacement - Right Side in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.
