Removal Procedure
- Remove left and right windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement In Interior Trim.
- Remove the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
- Remove the right IP trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Right Side .
- Remove the IP cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
- Remove the fasteners that secure the IP upper trim pad (1) to the IP retainer.
- Lift the pad upward in order to remove from the IP.
Installation Procedure
- Position the IP upper trim pad on to the IP.
- Install the fasteners that secure the IP Upper trim pad (1) to the IP retainer.
- Install the IP cluster trim plate bezel. Refer to Instrument Panel Cluster Trim Plate Bezel Replacement .
- Install the right IP trim panel. Refer to Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement - Right Side .
- Install the defroster grille. Refer to Defroster Grille Replacement .
- Install left and right windshield garnish moldings. Refer to Windshield Pillar Garnish Molding Replacement in Interior Trim.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Tighten
Tighten the fasteners to 2 N·m (18 lb in).
