Did you perform the Lighting System Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Diagnostic System Check - Lighting Systems

Important:: The ambient light sensor assembly must indicate low light conditions for the interior lamps to operate.

1. Open and Close all of the doors.
2. Turn the interior lamp switch ON and OFF.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Do the I/P courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 3

Do the reading/courtesy lamps operate properly?

Go to Step 4

Go to Courtesy Lamps Always On

1. Install a scan tool.
2. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
3. With a scan tool, observe the Non -- Overhead Lamps Rela parameter in the rear integration module (RIM) Outputs data list.

Does the scan tool display OFF?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Disconnect the FRT CTSY relay. Refer to Relay Replacement in Wiring Systems.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Did the I/P courtesy lamps turn OFF?

Go to Step 6

Go to Step 10

1. Turn OFF the ignition.
2. Connect a test lamp between the FRT CTSY relay front interior lamp control circuit and the FRT CTSY relay control side supply voltage circuit.
3. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.

Does the test lamp illuminate?

Go to Step 7

Go to Step 9

Test for a short to ground in the front interior lamp control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the rear integration module (RIM). Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Inspect for poor connections at the FRT CTSY relay. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 13

Repair the short to voltage in the I/P courtesy lamps courtesy lamp control circuit. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 13

Important:: Perform the setup procedure for the RIM after replacement.

Replace the RIM. Refer to Rear Integration Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 13

Replace the FRT CTSY relay. Refer to Relay Replacement in Wiring Systems.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 13

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
