Modes of Operation

Automatic Door Locks

The following are the modes of operation for the automatic door locks feature:

Mode 0: The automatic door locks feature is disabled.

Mode 1: All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON.

Mode 2: All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.

Mode 3: All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the vehicle is shifted into PARK.

Mode 4: All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. Only the driver door unlocks when the ignition is turned OFF with the vehicle in PARK.

Mode 5: All of the doors lock when the vehicle is shifted out of PARK with the ignition ON. All of the doors unlock when the ignition is turned OFF with the vehicle in PARK.

Remote Activation Verification

The following are the modes of operation for the remote activation verification feature:

Mode 1: No feedback when locking or unlocking the vehicle.

Mode 2: Parking lamps and the Daytime Running Lamps will flash twice when unlocking the vehicle and flash once when locking the vehicle.

Mode 3: Horn chirps when all doors are unlocked by pressing the UNLOCK button on the remote keyless entry transmitter and when locking the vehicle.

Mode 4: Parking lamps and the Daytime Running Lamps will flash twice each time the button with the unlock symbol is pressed; the horn chirps when all doors are unlocked. Parking lamps and the exterior lamps flash once and the horn chirps when locking the vehicle.

DIC Personalization

The DIC can be used to program the following features:

    • Automatic Door Locks
    • Window Lockout
    • Security Feedback
    • Delayed Locking
    • Perimeter Lighting
    • Driver ID
    • Memory Seats
    • Parallel Park Assist Mirror /Tilt Mirror

To access the personalization menu, the vehicle must be in PARK (P) with the ignition in RUN and no warning messages displayed on the DIC. Press and hold both of the SELECT buttons for three seconds and the DIC will display the personalization menu.

The DIC displays the following:

FEATURE PROGRAMMING

PRESS SELECT DOWN TO

SELECT MENU OPTIONS

PRESS SELECT RIGHT TO

CHANGE SETTINGS

The next item to be displayed is DRIVER 1 or Driver 2. To change the driver number, press the SELECT right arrow. Once the correct driver number has been selected, press the SELECT down arrow to enter your choice and move on to the next selection.

After you have the correct driver number on the display use the SELECT down arrow button to scroll through the following messages and feature options:

    • DOORS LOCK IN GEAR -- YES/NO
    • DOORS UNLOCK -- YES/NO
    • ALL DOORS IN PARK -- YES/NO
    • ALL DOORS AT KEY OFF -- YES/NO
    • DRIVERS DOOR IN PARK -- YES/NO
    • DRIVERS DOOR KEY OFF -- YES/NO
    • PASS WINDOW LOCKOUT -- YES/NO
    • KEY FOB FLASH LIGHTS -- YES/NO
    • KEY FOB CHIRP HORN -- YES/NO
    • DELAY LOCK OF DOORS -- YES/NO
    • PERIMETER LIGHTS -- YES/NO
    • EXT LIGHT TIMEOUT -- 25
    • DISPLAY DRIVER ID -- YES/NO
    • KEY FOB MEMORY SEAT -- YES/NO
    • DRIVING POSITION -- YES/NO
    • EXIT POSITION -- YES/NO
    • TILT MIRROR REVERSE -- YES/NO

Memory Seats Programming

Perform the following actions in order to program the memory seats and mirrors:

  1. Adjust the driver's seat, lumbar position, and both outside mirrors to the desired position.
  2. Press and hold memory button 1 for more than 3 seconds. A double beep will sound to confirm programming.
  3. Adjust the driver's seat to the desired exit position.
  4. Press and hold the exit button for more than 3 seconds. A double beep will sound to confirm programming.
  5. Repeat the above steps using memory button 2 for the second driver.

Programming Features with the Tech 2

To enter programming with the Tech 2 , perform the following actions:

  1. Install the scan tool.
  2. Turn ON the ignition with the engine OFF.
  3. Select the correct vehicle and model year.
  4. Select Body.
  5. Select Personalization.

Automatic Door Locks

Continue with the following steps in order to program the automatic door locks:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Automatic Door Lock Mode or Driver #2 Automatic Door Lock Mode.
  3. Highlight the desired mode from the following choices ,refer to Automatic Door Locks for mode descriptions:
  4. • Mode 0
    • Mode 1
    • Mode 2
    • Mode 3
    • Mode 4
    • Mode 5
  5. Press the ENTER button to select a mode. An asterisk appears beside the current mode. You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.
  6. Exit from the menu.

Delayed Locking

Continue with the following steps in order to program the delayed locking feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Delayed Locking or Driver #2 Delayed Locking.
  3. Highlight Delay Locking and press the ENTER button to turn the selection ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is ON.

Driver ID:

Continue with the following steps in order to enter a new driver ID:

  1. Select Driver Information Center.
  2. Select Driver #1 or Driver #2.
  3. Select Driver #1 Name or Driver #2 Name (depending on your previous choice).
  4. Spell the ID with the Tech 2 keys.
  5. Exit from the menu.

Continue with the following steps in order to turn the driver ID on or off:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 ID Displayed or Driver #2 ID Displayed.
  3. Highlight Driver #1 ID Display or Driver #2 ID Display (depending on your previous choice) and press the ENTER button to turn the selection ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is turned ON.

Memory Seats

Continue with the following steps in order to program the memory seat options:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Memory Recall or Driver #2 Memory Recall.
  3. Select one of the following options:
  4. • Remote Entry Recall Driver Seat
    • Recall Exit on RKE Unlock
  5. Press ENTER to turn the option ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is turned ON.

Parallel Park Assist

Continue with the following steps in order to program the parallel park assist feature:

  1. Select Set Options
  2. Select Driver #1 Curb View or Driver #2 Curb View.
  3. Highlight Parallel Park Assist and press the ENTER button to turn the feature ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is turned ON.
  4. Exit from the menu.

Passenger Window Lock-Out

Continue with the following steps in order to program the passenger window lock-out feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Pass. Window Lock-out or Driver #2 Pass. Window Lock-out.
  3. Highlight Include Front Pass. Window Lockout and press the ENTER button to turn the feature ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is turned ON.

Perimeter Lighting

Continue with the following steps in order to program the perimeter lighting feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Perimeter Lighting or Driver #2 Perimeter Lighting.
  3. Highlight Perimeter Lighting and press the ENTER button to turn the feature ON or OFF. An asterisk appears when the feature is turned ON.
  4. Exit from the menu.

Perimeter Lighting Timer

Continue with the following steps in order to program the perimeter lighting timer:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Perimeter Light Timer or Driver #2 Perimeter Light Timer.
  3. Select one of the following choices:
  4. • Delay 5 Seconds
    • Delay 10 Seconds
    • Delay 15 Seconds
    • Delay 20 Seconds
    • Delay 25 Seconds
    • Delay 30 Seconds
  5. Press the ENTER button to select a setting. An asterisk appears beside the current setting. You must turn the current setting OFF before you can turn another one ON.

Remote Activation Verification

Continue with the following steps in order to program the remote activation verification feature:

  1. Select Set Options.
  2. Select Driver #1 Activation Verification or Driver #2 Activation Verification.
  3. Highlight the desired mode from the following choices, refer to Remote Activation Verification for mode descriptions:
  4. • Mode 1
    • Mode 2
    • Mode 3
    • Mode 4
  5. Press the ENTER button to turn the mode ON or OFF. An asterisk appears beside the current mode. You must turn the current mode OFF before you can turn another one ON.
  6. Exit from the menu.
