    • J 36660-A Torque Angle Meter
    • J 42041 Crankshaft Balancer and Crankshaft Front Oil Seal Installer
    • J 43442 Flywheel Holder

  1. Install the J 43442 .

  2. Object Number: 283293  Size: SH
  3. Use the J 42041  (1), nut, bearing and washer J 42041-2 (2) to install the crankshaft balancer.

  4. Object Number: 798590  Size: SH

    Important: Do not lubricate the crankshaft front oil seal or crankshaft balancer sealing surfaces. The crankshaft balancer is installed into a dry seal.

  5. Place the crankshaft balancer in position on the crankshaft.

  7. Thread the J 42041 in the crankshaft. Make sure you engage at least ten threads of the J 42041 before pressing the crankshaft balancer in place.

  9. Push the crankshaft balancer into position by tightening the nut on the J 42041 until the large washer bottoms out on the crankshaft end.
  10. Remove the J 42041 .

  12. Install the crankshaft balancer bolt.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  14. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt.
  15. Tighten

    1. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
    2. Tighten the crankshaft balancer bolt an additional 120 degrees using the J 36660-A .

  16. Remove the J 43442 .

  17. Object Number: 263964  Size: SH
  18. Install the drive belt tensioner. Be sure to locate the tensioner anchor pin in the cylinder head recess (1).
  19. Install the drive belt tensioner bolt.
  20. Tighten
    Tighten the drive belt tensioner bolt to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).
