J 42841-A Crankshaft Rear Oil Seal Remover


    Object Number: 548432  Size: SH

    Important: Crankshaft rear oil seal removal requires adequate space for removal. Mount the engine on a suitable engine stand which will properly space the engine in order to use the J 42841-A to remove the crankshaft rear oil seal. If necessary remove the crankshaft rear oil seal with the engine properly supported on the floor or on a bench.

  1. Place the J 42841-A onto the crankshaft.
  2. Install the J 42841-A bolts.

  3. Object Number: 548435  Size: SH
  4. Using a drill motor (variable speed preferred) with a socket adapter, install eight one-inch self-drilling screws into the seal using the guide holes in the removal tool. When drilling, make sure you reduce the drill speed when the screw begins threading into the seal.

  5. Object Number: 548437  Size: SH
  6. With all eight removal screws installed, remove the J 42841-A bolts.

  7. Object Number: 548439  Size: SH
  8. Install the center forcing screw.

  9. Object Number: 548440  Size: SH
  10. Tighten the center screw on the removal tool to pull the seal assembly off the end of the crankshaft.
