Cleaning Procedure

  1. Clean the oil pan in solvent.
  2. Clean out debris from the bolt holes.
  3. Caution: Wear safety glasses in order to avoid eye damage.

  4. Dry the oil pan with compressed air.

Inspection Procedure

  1. Inspect the exterior of the oil pan for the following conditions:
  2. • Damage to the drain plug or drain plug hole (1)
    • Damage to the transaxle mounting boss (2)
    • Damage to the oil level sensor bolt hole threads (3)
    • Damage to the oil level sensor hole (4)
    • Damage to the oil filter cap oil pan threads (5)
    • Damage to the transaxle brace mounting bosses (6)
    • Dents or damage to the exterior

  3. Inspect the interior of the oil pan for the following conditions:
  4. • Gouges or damage to the oil pan sealing surfaces (1)
    • Damage to the oil pan baffle (2)
    • Damage to the bolt holes (3)

  5. Inspect the oil filter cap for the following conditions:
  6. • Damage to the oil filter cap threads (1)
    • Damage to the sealing O-rings (2)
    • Damage to the hold area (3)
  7. Repair or replace the oil pan and/or filter cap as necessary.
