Radiator Inlet Hose Replacement LX5

Tools Required

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 656921  Size: SH
  3. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the inlet radiator hose (2).
  4. Disconnect the hose.

  5. Object Number: 527509  Size: SH
  6. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the inlet radiator hose.
  7. Disconnect the hose.
  8. Remove the radiator hose.

Installation Procedure

  1. Install the radiator hose.
  2. Connect the radiator hose.

  3. Object Number: 527509  Size: SH
  4. Using the J 38185 reposition the clamp.
  5. Connect the radiator hose.

  6. Object Number: 656921  Size: SH
  7. Using the J 38185 reposition the clamp.
  8. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 614444  Size: SH
  3. Using the J 38185 loosen and move the inlet radiator hose clamp (1)
  4. .

  5. Remove the inlet radiator hose from the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 527527  Size: SH
  7. Using the J 38185 loosen and move the inlet radiator hose clamp at the engine.
  8. Remove the inlet radiator hose from the engine.
  9. Disconnect the hose clip (1) at the upper radiator support bar and remove the hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 527527  Size: SH
  1. Install the inlet radiator hose to the engine.
  2. Using the J 38185 reposition the clamp at the engine.
  3. Position the hose and fasten to the clamp (1) at the upper radiator support.

  4. Object Number: 614444  Size: SH
  5. Install the inlet radiator hose to the radiator.
  6. Using the J 38185 reposition the hose clamp (1) at the radiator.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
