Radiator Outlet Hose Replacement L47

Tools Required

    • J 37097-A Hose Clamp Remover/Installer
    • J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.0 L.
  2. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  3. Object Number: 614449  Size: SH
  4. Using the J 37097-A loosen and move the outlet radiator hose clamp (1) at the radiator.
  5. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.

  6. Object Number: 130758  Size: SH
  7. Using the J 38185 loosen and move the outlet radiator hose clamp at the engine.
  8. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the engine.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 130758  Size: SH
  1. Install the outlet radiator hose to the engine.
  2. Using the J 37097-A reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp.

  3. Object Number: 614449  Size: SH
  4. Install the outlet radiator hose to the radiator.
  5. Using the J 37097-A reposition the outlet radiator hose clamp (1).
  6. Install the air cleaner assembly. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.0L.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .

  2. Object Number: 656921  Size: SH
  3. Position the J 38185 to the clamp in order to remove the outlet radiator hose (1) from the thermostat housing.

  4. Object Number: 527509  Size: SH
  5. Using the J 38185 loosen the clamp.
  6. Remove the outlet radiator hose from the radiator.

Installation Procedure

  1. Connect the radiator hose to the radiator.

  2. Object Number: 527509  Size: SH
  3. Using the J 38185 to reposition the clamp.
  4. Connect the outlet radiator hose (1) to the thermostat housing.

  5. Object Number: 656921  Size: SH
  6. Using the J 38185 reposition the clamp.
  7. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
