Engine Coolant Heater Replacement - Left Side L47
Removal Procedure
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
in General Information.
- Remove the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Disconnect the electrical
connector at the engine coolant heater (1).
- Remove the engine coolant heater bolt.
- Remove the left engine coolant heater (1).
Installation Procedure
- Align the threaded hole
in the engine block with the hole labeled "L" (2) on the
left engine coolant heater.
- Install the left engine
coolant heater (1).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the engine
coolant heater bolt.
Tighten
Tighten the engine coolant heater bolt to 10 N·m (89 lb in).
- Connect the electrical connector to the engine coolant heater (1).
- Install the front air deflector. Refer to
Front Air Deflector Replacement
in Body Front End.
- Lower the vehicle.
