J 38185 Hose Clamp Pliers

Removal Procedure

  1. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.

  2. Object Number: 527489  Size: SH
  3. Using theJ 38185 loosen the clamp.
  4. Remove the outlet heater hose from the thermostat housing.

  5. Object Number: 527530  Size: SH
  6. Remove the outlet hose from the surge tank.

  7. Object Number: 527480  Size: SH
  8. Using the J 38185 loosen the outlet hose clamp.
  9. Remove the hose from the heater core.
  10. Remove the nut from the outlet hose mounting bracket.
  11. Remove the heater hose assembly.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 527480  Size: SH
  1. Position the outlet heater hose assembly into the vehicle and onto the stud.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the nut.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the nut to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Install the outlet hose to the heater core.
  6. Using theJ 38185 reposition the clamp.

  8. Install the outlet hose to the surge tank
  9. Using theJ 38185 reposition the clamp.

  10. Object Number: 527489  Size: SH
  11. Install the outlet hose to the thermostat housing.
  12. Using theJ 38185 reposition the clamp.
  13. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
