J 39400-A Halogen Leak Detector

Removal Procedure

  1. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .

  2. Object Number: 523109  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector from the low side temperature sensor.

  4. Object Number: 523115  Size: SH
  5. Unscrew the A/C low side temperature sensor (1) from the refrigerant line and remove the sensor from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  1. Ensure the low side A/C temperature  (1) sensor has a O-ring installed and the O-ring is not damaged.
  2. Lubricate the low side A/C temperature sensor (1) with a light coating of refrigerant oil.

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the A/C low side temperature (1) sensor to the refrigerant line.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the sensor to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

  5. Connect the electrical connector to the sensor.
  6. Recharge the A/C system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging .
  7. Leak test the fittings of the component using the J 39400-A .
