Connector End View Reference: HVAC Connector End Views

DEFINITION: The right air temperature switch assembly will not adjust HVAC temperatures and no DTC's have been set.

Did you perform the HVAC Diagnostic System Check?

Go to Step 2

Go to Diagnostic System Check - HVAC Systems - Automatic

1. Turn ON the ignition, with the engine OFF.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Auto HVAC w/ Dual Zone option parameter in the DIM Set Options data list.

Does the scan tool indicate that the Auto HVAC w Dual Zone option is active?

Go to Step 3

Go to Step 6

1. Place the AUTO switch in the ON position.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Pass. HVAC Switch parameter in the Driver Door Module data list.
3. Place the right air temperature switch assembly from the coldest position to the warmest position.

Does the value of the Pass. HVAC Switch parameter change?

Go to Step 4

Go to Step 7

1. With a scan tool, observe the Right Program Number parameter in the Instrument Panel Module data list.
2. Place the right air temperature switch assembly from the coldest position to the warmest position.

Does the Right Program Number parameter increase?

Go to Step 5

Go to Step 8

1. Place the right air temperature switch assembly in the warmest position.
2. With a scan tool, observe the Right Program Number parameter in the Instrument Panel Module data list.
3. Press OFF one time on the HVAC control module.

Does the value of the Right Program Number parameter change?

Go to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections in Wiring Systems

Go to Step 8

With a scan tool, enable the Auto HVAC w Dual Zone option in the DIM Set Options data list.

Did you complete the repair?

Go to Step 11

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connectors of the right air temperature switch assembly and the passenger door module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 9

Inspect for poor connections at the harness connector of the instrument panel module. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Did you find and correct the condition?

Go to Step 11

Go to Step 10

Replace the right air temperature switch assembly. Refer to Air Temperature Switch Assembly Replacement - Right Side .

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Replace the instrument panel module. Refer to Instrument Panel Module Replacement in Body Control System.

Did you complete the replacement?

Go to Step 11

Operate the system in order to verify the repair.

Did you correct the condition?

System OK
