The switch that failed and generated this diagnostic trouble code (DTC) is a built in part of the driver door switch assembly (DDSA) . The DDSA contains a microprocessor which takes the signal generated by the switch and assigns a digital message to the switch signal. The DDSA then sends this message over the power door serial data link to the driver door module (DDM).
The DDM must be powered and must not have DTCs B1327-Battery Low Voltage or B1328-Battery High Voltage set for this DTC to set.
If the driver door module (DDM) receives the message that the lockout switch is closed for more than 30 continuous seconds the DDM sets this DTC.
When the lockout switch DTC is set, the DDSA and DDM default to the last valid switch input. If the last valid input was to enable lock out, the indicator LED will be lit and the passenger windows will not operate from the passenger window switches. If the last valid input was to disable lock out, the indicator will not be lit and the passenger window switches will operate the windows.
The DDM clears this current DTC when the switch signal is no longer received. The DTC is stored as a history DTC. The history DTC will clear either after 50 OFF/ON cycles of the ignition switch without a repeated failure or in response to a scan tool command.
