SUBJECT: SERVICE MANUAL UPDATE - SECTION 9A - AUDIO SYSTEMS - REVISED ANTENNA CABLE ASSEMBLY REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION

MODELS: 1995-96 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK S/T MODELS 1996 OLDSMOBILE BRAVADA WITH 4.3L ENGINE (VINS W, X, Z - RPOS L35, LF6, LB4)

THIS BULLETIN HAS BEEN ISSUED TO REVISE THE REMOVAL AND INSTALLATION PROCEDURES FOR THE ANTENNA CABLE ASSEMBLY FOR 1995 AND 1996 S/T UTILITY VEHICLES EQUIPPED WITH THE 4.3L ENGINE. THE PROCEDURE HAS BEEN REVISED DUE TO INTERFERENCE WITH THE HVAC ACOUSTIC BARRIER WHEN ATTEMPTING TO REMOVE THE ANTENNA CABLE ASSEMBLY. THIS REPLACES THE CURRENT PROCEDURES FOUND ON PAGE 9A-29 OF THE 1995 MANUAL AND PAGE 9A-11 OF THE 1996 MANUAL.

ANTENNA CABLE

REMOVE OR DISCONNECT

1. ANTENNA MAST. 2. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE FROM RADIO EXTENSION CABLE. 3. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE NUT. 4. RADIO ANTENNA BEZEL. 5. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE FROM FENDER SCREWS. 6. RIGHT FENDER. REFER TO SECTION 2B. 7. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE FROM FENDER.

INSTALL OR CONNECT

1. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE TO FENDER. 3. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE TO FENDER SCREWS.

TIGHTEN SCREWS TO 2.8 N.M (25 LB. IN.)

3. RIGHT FENDER. REFER TO SECTION 2B. 4. RADIO ANTENNA BEZEL. 5. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE NUT.

TIGHTEN CABLE NUT TO 5 N.M (45 LB. IN.)

6. RADIO ANTENNA CABLE TO EXTENSION CABLE. 7. ANTENNA MAST.
