Removal Procedure
  1. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.

    2. Object Number: 748025 Size: SH
  2. Remove the fill plug.

    3. Object Number: 748021 Size: SH
  3. Remove the drain plug and the washer.
  4. Drain the fluid from the differential carrier assembly.

Installation Procedure

    Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in the Preface section.


    Object Number: 748021 Size: SH
  1. Install the drain plug and the washer.

    2. Tighten
    Tighten the drain plug to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  2. Fill the differential carrier assembly with lubricant. Use the proper fluid. Refer to Approximate Fluid Capacities and Fluid and Lubricant Recommendations in Maintenance and Lubrication.

    3. Object Number: 748025 Size: SH
  3. Install the fill plug.

    4. Tighten
    Tighten the fill plug to 32 N·m (24 lb ft).

  4. Lower the vehicle.
