Removal Procedure

    Caution: This vehicle is equipped with a Supplemental Inflatable Restraint (SIR) System. Failure to follow the correct procedure could cause the following conditions:

       • Air bag deployment
       • Personal injury
       • Unnecessary SIR system repairs
    In order to avoid the above conditions, observe the following guidelines:
       • Refer to SIR Component Views in order to determine if you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring.
       • If you are performing service on or near the SIR components or the SIR wiring, disable the SIR system. Refer to Disabling the SIR System.

  1. Disable SIR. Refer to Disabling the SIR System in SIR.
  2. Important: Before removing the seat, ensure that the following conditions are met:

       • For power seats, verify that the seat bottom is fully down.
       • The seat back is in the full upright position.
       • The upper and lower seat rails are flush at rear.

  3. Remove the seat mounting fastener covers.

  5. Remove the 3 front seat mounting nuts.
  6. Remove the front seat mounting bolt.
  7. Disconnect the electrical harness. Unclip the harness from the seat bracket.
  8. Remove the seat from the vehicle.
  9. Place the seat on a clean, prepared surface.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 722607  Size: SH
  1. Install the seat to the vehicle.
  2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Important: Do not move or adjust the seat adjuster release handle or the seat back until all 4 fastener attachments have been made. Do not tighten the front seat mounting bolt until the remaining 3 mounting nuts have been tightened.

  3. Install the front seat mounting bolt. Do not tighten.
  4. Install the three front seat mounting nuts on the floor studs.
  5. Tighten
    Tighten the front seat mounting nuts to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

    Tighten
    Tighten the front seat mounting bolt to 45 N·m (33 lb ft).

  6. Connect the electrical harness. Clip the harness to the seat bracket.
  7. Enable SIR. Refer to Enabling the SIR System in SIR.
  8. Install the seat mounting fastener covers.
