Headlamp Housing Panel Replacement Chevrolet , GMC

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior trim.
  3. Remove the radiator baffle. Refer to Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator .
  4. Release the clip that retains the ambient temperature sensor to the headlamp panel assembly.

  5. Object Number: 752279  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts that retain the headlamp panel assembly to the body.
  7. Remove the headlamp panel assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 752279  Size: SH
  1. Position the headlamp panel assembly to the vehicle.
  2. Feed the headlamp electrical connector through the access hole in the headlamp panel assembly.
  3. Feed the remaining headlamp harness connectors between the outer edge of the headlamp panel and the forward portion of the body.
  4. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  5. Install the bolts that retain the headlamp panel assembly to the body.
  6. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 8 N·m (71 lb in).

  7. Install the clip that retains the ambient temperature sensor to the headlamp panel assembly.
  8. Install the radiator baffle to the vehicle. Refer to Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator .
  9. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior trim.
  10. Install the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
  2. Remove the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior trim.
  3. Remove the radiator baffle. Refer to Air Intake Baffle Replacement - Radiator .
  4. Release the tabs that retains the ambient temperature sensor to the headlamp panel assembly.

  5. Object Number: 755562  Size: SH
  6. Remove the bolts that retain the headlamp panel assembly to the body.
  7. Remove the headlamp panel assembly from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure

  9. Install the grille. Refer to Grille Replacement in Exterior trim.
  10. Install the headlamp assemblies. Refer to Headlamp Replacement in Lighting Systems.
