Cruise Control Cable Adjustment 2.4L
- Verify that the throttle body injection (TBI) is in the closed
position in order to adjust the cable.
- Adjust the thumb screw in order to remove any slack in the cruise
control cable.
- Verify that the TBI cam returns to the closed position.
Cruise Control Cable Adjustment 3100 V-6
- Disengage the adjustment lock tab on the cruise control cable
in order to adjust the cable assembly.
- Lift upward on the cable.
- The cable will move freely in and out of the adjuster when the
lock is disengaged.
- Verify that the throttle body injection (TBI) cam is in the closed
position.
- Remove any slack in the cruise control cable by moving the cable
in or out of the adjuster.
- The cruise control throttle body cam will rest against the throttle
lever when the cable is properly adjusted.
Important: Do not remove the adjustment lock tab from the cable. If the adjustment
lock tab becomes separated from the cruise control cable, replace the cable.
- Push down in order to engage the adjustment lock tab.
- Verify that the TBI cam returns to the closed position.
