Instrument Cluster Trim Panel Replacement Chevrolet
Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to
Disabling the SIR System
in SIR.
- Remove the screws (5)
from the cluster trim plate (1).
- Gently pry out the cluster trim plate (1).
- Disconnect the instrument panel lamp dimmer electrical connector
(3).
- Disconnect the hazard warning switch (4).
- Remove the cluster trim plate (1).
Installation Procedure
- Connect the hazard warning
switch (4).
- Connect the instrument panel lamp dimmer electrical connector
(3).
- Align the cluster trim plate (1) tabs to the retainers.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the screws
(5) to the cluster trim plate (1).
Tighten
Tighten the screws to 2.3 N·m (18 lb in).

Removal Procedure
- Disable the SIR system. Refer to

- Remove the accessory trim
plates. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
.
- Remove the screws (3) to the cluster trim plate (1).
- Gently pry out the cluster trim plate (1) from the instrument
panel (2).
Installation Procedure
- Install the cluster trim
plate (1) to the instrument panel (2).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
