  1. Acquire any available technical service bulletins.
  2. Perform the Antenna System Test.
  3. Perform any necessary repairs.
  4. Retest for the complaint condition.

  1. Contact the customer for an explanation of the complaint condition.
  2. Retest the system.
  3. Perform any necessary repairs.

Start the engine. Allow the engine to run.

Is the vehicle equipped with aftermarket electronic equipment?

Verify proper installation of the aftermarket electronic equipment.

  1. Inspect the system for stored Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs).
  2. Inspect the integrity of the ignition system, including the following conditions.
  3. • Proper spark wire routing
    • No misfiring
  4. Inspect the integrity of all the engine compartment grounds.
  5. Inspect the following components for malfunctions that may cause poor reception:
  6. • Relays
    • Solenoids
    • Other components

Remove the fuses and the circuit breakers, one at a time, until the complaint condition is eliminated.

Correct the installation. Retest the system for the complaint condition.

  1. Mark the complaint fuses.
  2. Reinstall all of the fuses and the circuit breakers.
  3. Refer to Power Distribution Schematics in order to identify all the systems and the components powered by the complaint fuse(s) or circuit breaker(s).

Inspect the ground integrity of the complaint-causing component. Perform any necessary repairs. If the component is OK, refer to the Sound Service Audio Systems Diagnostic Guide.
