Circuit Description

This is a trouble code (both current and history) that indicates a system problem has occurred that is preventing the DRL function from performing properly.

Conditions for Setting the DTC

All of the following conditions must be met:

    • The ambient light sensor indicates a bright condition.
    • The DRL is configured to have a drop resistor.
    • Ignition 3 is active.
    • The DRL relay output is active.
    • The low beams are not in the DRL range OR that the high beams are in the ON state for more than 10 DRL relay ON/OFF cycles.

Action Taken When the DTC Sets

    • In bright conditions the low beams will flicker or are off.
    • Turns OFF the DRL relay
    • Enters a fault state
    • Stores DTC B2600 in the BCM

Conditions for Clearing the DTC

    • The fault state is exited upon ignition 3 becoming inactive.
    • All the BCM history codes will be cleared after 100 ignition cycles (from OFF to RUN) with no current codes active during the 100 ignition cycles.
    • Use the scan tool.

Diagnostic Aids

    • All other DRL DTCs must be diagnosed before DTC B2600.
    • When the diagnostics directs you to take electrical measurements at the wiring harness junction blocks, refer to Power Distribution for the terminal assignments of the wiring harness junction blocks.
    • If the DTC is a history DTC, the problem may be intermittent. Perform the above tests while wiggling the wiring and connectors. This may often cause the malfunction to appear.

Test Description

The numbers below refer to the numbers on the diagnostic table.

  1. If there are no other current DRL related DTCs and DTC B2600 remains current then use the DRL Inoperative, Headlamp Switch Operates Normally diagnostic table..
