The Remote Control Door Lock Receiver System
allows the driver to perform the following functions by use of a handheld
transmitter:
• | Unlock the drivers door (5) |
• | Lock all of the doors (3) |
• | Release the rear compartment lid |
The range of the transmitter is approximately seven meters (23 ft).
If the transmitter range becomes less than seven meters (23 ft),
the battery may need replacing. Refer to
Transmitter Battery Replacement
.
The maximum range of the transmitter is dependent upon ambient conditions
as well as other operating parameters.
The following conditions may occur due to interference from anonymous
radio signal transmissions:
• | The range of the transmitter may decrease from the normal range |
• | The receiver may not operate |
Attach the door lock key (oval head) to the ring on the transmitter
if needed.
When the drivers door or rear compartment lid is unlocked by using the
transmitter, the interior lamps turn on and remain on for approximately forty
seconds or until the ignition switch is turned to the RUN position.
This GM vehicle does not have door ajar switches. A switch that is mounted
on the door handle controls the Interior lamps. The Remote Control Door Lock
Receiver controls the interior lamps when the unlock or rear compartment
lid button on the transmitter is pressed.
The serial data transmits on a radio frequency carrier signal at 315 MHz
from the transmitter to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver, when you press
one of the following three buttons on the transmitter:
• | Rear Compartment Lid Release |
The transmitter is resistant to the following conditions:
• | Moderate temperature changes |
• | Most common household fluids |
• | Most common automotive fluids |
