Important: A short to ground will cause an open fuse(s). Before performing this diagnostic procedure, inspect the fuse(s) for an open.

  1. Disconnect the left IP wiring harness junction block connector C3.
  2. Connect a fused jumper between terminal A4 of the left IP wiring harness junction block connector C3 and B+.
  3. Connect a fused jumper between terminal A2 of the left IP bussed electrical center connector C3 and ground.

Does the motor operate?

  1. Reconnect the left IP wiring harness junction block connector C3.
  2. Disconnect the left front door lock motor connector.
  3. Connect a test lamp between terminal A of the left front door lock motor connector and ground.
  4. Press and hold the left front door lock switch in the UNLOCK position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between terminal A and terminal B of the left front door lock motor connector.
  2. Press and hold the left front door lock switch in the UNLOCK position.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Connect a test lamp between terminal A4 of the left IP wiring harness junction block connector C3 and ground.
  2. Press and hold the left front door lock switch in the UNLOCK position.

Does the test lamp light?

Repair the open in CKT 294 between the left IP wiring harness junction block and the left front door lock motor. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

System OK

Replace the left front door lock actuator. Refer to Door Control Module Replacement in Doors.

  1. Backprobe the left IP wiring harness junction block, using a test lamp between terminal A2 of connector C3 and B+.
  2. Press and hold the left front door lock switch in the UNLOCK position.

Does the test lamp light?

--

Go to Step 8

Repair the open in CKT 295 between the left front door lock motor and the left IP wiring harness junction block. Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the left IP wiring harness junction block. Refer to Relay/Fuse Center Replacement in Wiring Systems.
