INFO ON THICK TRANSIT COATING ADDITIONAL REMOVER RECOMMENDED

SUBJECT: INFORMATION ON THICK TRANSIT COATING - APPUCATION/ADDITIONAL REMOVER RECOMMENDED

MODELS/YEARS: 1992 CUTLASS SUPREME

CONDITION: 1992 Cutlass Supreme models will have a "Thicker Than Normal" application of transit coating to account for a longer than normal storage period at the assembly plant. This maximum transit coating thickness will continue until further notice and may require additional concentration of remover and/or soak time for complete removal.

CORRECTION: The vehicles with this additional coating will be shipped with additional transit coating remover to allow for a heavier concentration.

MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: Follow the instructions and proportions for one full bottle of concentrate, then add second full bottle. This will provide the stronger solution for removing the coating.

Note: It is recommended that, for ease of removal, the material be removed within 4 months of the vehicle build date.

Use of the normal removal methods, combined with the heavier concentration and additional soak time, should be all that is necessary to obtain complete removal of the transit coating. It is important to keep the surface wet with remover solution for the easiest removal of the transit coating.

General Motors bulletins are intended for use by professional technicians, not a "do-it-yourselfer". They are written to inform those technicians of conditions that may occur on some vehicles, or to provide information that could assist in the proper service of a vehicle. Properly trained technicians have the equipment, tools, safety instructions and know-how to do a job properly and safely. If a condition is described, do not assume that the bulletin applies to your vehicle, or that your vehicle will have that condition. See a General Motors dealer servicing your brand of General Motors vehicle for information on whether your vehicle may benefit from the information.
