THE LABEL IS MISSING A KEY PHRASE IDENTIFYING THE VEHICLE AS BEING ELIGIBLE FOR SALE, USE OR REGISTRATION IN CALIFORNIA. THE LABEL IS REQUIRED BY THE FEDERAL CLEAN AIR ACT AND BY THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA.

DEALER ACTION
DEALERS ARE TO INSTALL THE CORRECT VEHICLE EMISSION CONTROL INFORMATION LABEL ON VEHICLES INVOLVED AS DESCRIBED IN THE SERVICE PROCEDURE SECTION OF THIS BULLETIN.
EACH DEALER WILL RECEIVE A CORRECT LABEL FOR ALL CARS LISTED ON THE PRINTOUT, WITHOUT AN OWNER NAME AND ADDRESS (OWNER OF RECORD). THOSE CARS SHOWING A DEALER NAME OR NO NAME AND ADDRESS ARE THE DEALER'S RESPONSIBILITY TO CORRECT. ADDITIONAL LABELS MAY BE OBTAINED FROM YOUR ZONE OFFICE.
SINCE THE LABEL CAN EASILY BE INSTALLED IT IS BEING MAILED DIRECTLY TO OWNERS OF RECORD. OWNERS MAY INSTALL THE LABEL PERSONALLY OR REQUEST THAT IT BE INSTALLED BY YOUR DEALERSHIP. SHOULD THIS OCCUR THE LABEL IS TO BE IN- STALLED AT NO CHARGE TO THE OWNER AND A CLAIM SUBMITTED USING YOUR TERMINAL OR A "YELLOW STRIPE" CAMPAIGN CARD.
SERVICE PROCEDURE
1. OPEN THE HOOD AND LOCATE THE OLD LABEL ON THE PANEL ABOVE THE RADIATOR FAN (FAN SHROUD).
2. CLEAN THE SURFACE OF THE OLD LABEL WITH SOAPY WATER AND WIPE DRY.
3. APPLY THE NEW LABEL OVER THE OLD LABEL.
NOTICE; DO NOT ATTEMPT TO REMOVE OR LOOSEN THE NEW LABEL ONCE IT HAS BEEN APPLIED, AS THIS WILL DEFACE THE LABEL.
