This bulletin supersedes Dealer Technical Bulletin 89-T-110 which may be discarded. The bulletin has been revised to correct the VIN number for Cutlass Ciera models built at the Framingham Plant.
BULLETIN COVERS: (Figure 1) --------------- A fluid leak near the governor area on a 1989 Cutlass Ciera, Cutlass Supreme, Eighty-Eight, Ninety-Eight or Toronado models equipped with a THM 440-T4/HYDRA-MATIC 4T60 may be caused by porosity allowing fluid to seep out the case.
SERVICE PROCEDURE: (Figure 2) ----------------- If the transaxle has a leak near the governor area, inspect the case die number as shown in Figure 2. If the die number is 567 and the VIN is within the following breakpoints listed under "Vehicles Involved", then replace the transaxle case.
