For 1990-2009 cars only

Floor pan insulators have been designed for the higher floor pan temperatures that result from the use of the catalytic converter in the exhaust system. When servicing a vehicle in the field, any insulators that may have been disturbed or removed must be reinstalled in the original sequence and location.

Perform the following instructions when servicing or replacing interior floor pan insulators:

    • The floor pan insulators must be installed in the original position and sequence.
    • Replace the old floor pan insulator with an original equipment service part.
    • Do not modify the floor pan insulator to aid in the installation procedure.
    • Route all electrical wiring harnesses over the floor pan insulators and secure them in their original position.
    • Do not use any spray-on type sound deadeners or trim adhesives in the area directly over the catalytic converter or the muffler(s).
