Cruise Control Cable Replacement 3.8L

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 319387 Size: SH
  1. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.
  2. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control cable retainers.

    3. Object Number: 12717 Size: SH
  3. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module strap.

    4. Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module by rotating the cruise control cable counterclockwise.
  5. Remove the cruise control cable from the engine.

Installation Procedure
  1. Position the cruise control cable to the engine.

    2. Object Number: 294511 Size: SH

    Object Number: 301671 Size: SH
  2. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module by rotating the cruise control cable clockwise.

    3. Important: Ensure the cruise control module strap is not twisted during installation of the cruise control cable.

  3. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control retainers.
  4. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module strap.

    5. Object Number: 319387 Size: SH
  5. Install the cruise control cable to the throttle lever and the accelerator control cable bracket.
  6. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment

Cruise Control Cable Replacement 3.5L

Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  1. Disconnect the cruise control cable adjuster lock.
  2. Rotate the cruise control cable counterclockwise.

    3. Remove the cruise control cable from the cruise control module.

  3. Remove the cruise control cable from the retainer on the cruise control module bracket.

    4. Object Number: 405806 Size: SH
  4. Remove the cruise control cable from the throttle body bracket.
  5. Remove the cruise control cable from the cam pin.
  6. Remove the cruise control cable from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure
  1. Install the cruise control cable to the vehicle.

    2. Object Number: 405805 Size: SH
  2. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control cable throttle bracket.
  3. Install the cruise control cable to the cam pin.

    4. Object Number: 12717 Size: SH
  4. Install the cruise control cable to the retainer on the cruise control module bracket.

    5. Object Number: 294519 Size: SH
  5. Install the cruise control cable to the cruise control module.
  6. Connect the cruise control cable adjuster lock.

    7. Rotate the cruise control cable clockwise.

  7. Adjust the cruise control cable. Refer to Cruise Control Cable Adjustment .
