Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Upper Radiator Support

1. Remove the engine mount strut from the engine mount strut bracket at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .



2. Remove the four bolts from the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.
3. Remove the engine mount strut bracket from the upper radiator support.

1. Position the engine mount strut bracket over the upper radiator support so the engine mount strut bracket and the engine mount strut are aligned. Align the engine mount strut bracket with the proper holes of the upper radiator support.

Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

2. Install the four bolts through the engine mount strut bracket to the upper radiator support.

Tighten
Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 28 N·m (21 lb ft).




3. Install the engine mount strut to the engine mount strut bracket at the upper radiator support. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .

Engine Mount Strut Bracket Replacement Engine

1. Remove the engine mount strut from the engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .



2. Disconnect the vacuum tube (1) from the A.I.R. control valve.
3. Disconnect the feed pipe nut (3) from the exhaust manifold.
4. Remove the A.I.R. control valve retaining bolt.
5. Remove the A.I.R. control valve (2) from the engine mount strut bracket.
6. Drain the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.
7. Loosen the water crossover bolts. Adjust the water crossover for access. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.



8. Remove the engine mount strut bracket bolts from the engine mount strut bracket (1) to the cylinder head.
9. Remove the engine mount strut bracket (1).

1. Install the engine mount strut bracket (1).

2. Install the engine mount strut bracket bolts through the engine mount strut bracket (1) to the cylinder head.

Tighten
Tighten the engine mount strut bracket bolts to 50 N·m (37 lb ft).

3. Install the water crossover. Refer to Engine Coolant Crossover Pipe Replacement in Engine Cooling.
4. Fill the cooling system. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling in Engine Cooling.



5. Install the A.I.R. control valve to the engine mount strut bracket.
6. Connect the feed pipe nut (3) to the exhaust manifold.
7. Install the A.I.R. control valve retaining bolt (2).
8. Connect the vacuum tube (1) to the A.I.R. control valve.
9. Install the control valve-to-engine mount strut bracket bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the control valve retaining bolt to 9 N·m (80 lb in).

10. Install the feed pipe nut (3).

Tighten
Tighten the feed pipe nut to 60 N·m (44 lb ft).




11. Install the engine mount strut to the engine mount strut bracket. Refer to Engine Mount Strut Replacement .
