Removal Procedure
Tools Required
• | J 25034-C Power
Steering Pump Pulley Remover (Base Only) |
• | J 25033-C Power
Steering Pump Pulley Installer |
OR
• | J 37609-A Power
Steering Pump Pulley Remover |
• | J 36015 Power
Steering Pump Pulley Installer |
- Remove the accessary drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
in Engine Mechanical-3.5L.
- Remove the engine coolant recovery resevoir.Refer to
Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
in
Engine Cooling.
- Remove the accessary wiring junction block. Refer to
Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement
in
Body Front End.
- Use the J 25034-C
and the J 37609
or the J 37609-A
in order to remove the power steering
pump pulley.
- Remove the power steering pulley from the power steering pump.
Installation Procedure

Steering Pump Pulley Installer |
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
Important:
• | The face of the pulley hub must be flush with the end of the pump
driveshaft. |
• | Do not use the arbor press to install the pulley. |
- Use the J 25033-C
or the J 36015
in order to install
the power steering pump pulley.
- Install the power steering pulley to the power steering pump.
- Install the accessary drive belt. Refer to
Drive Belt Replacement
in Engine Mechanical-3.5L.
- Install the engine coolant recovery resevoir.Refer to
Radiator Surge Tank Replacement
in Engine Cooling.
- Install the accessary wiring junction block. Refer to
Accessory Wiring Junction Block Replacement
in
Body Front End.

- Remove the accessary drive belt. Refer to

- Remove the power steering pump from the engine for clearance.

- Use the J 25034-C
and the J 37609
or the J 37609-A
in order to remove the pump pulley.

- Bleed the power steering system. Refer to

- Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
