Engine Coolant Temperature Sensor Replacement 3.5L V6 LX5
Removal Procedure
- Partially drain the engine
coolant from the cooling system. . Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Disconnect the electrical connector from the Engine Coolant Temperature
(ECT) sensor.
- Remove the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor from the engine.
Installation Procedure
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the Engine
Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor to the engine
Tighten
Tighten the Engine Coolant Temperature (ECT) sensor to 25 N·m
(25 lb ft).
- connect the electrical connector to the Engine Coolant Temperature
(ECT) sensor.
- Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to
Cooling System Draining and Filling
.
- Inspect the system for leaks.
