Throttle Body Heater Outlet Hose Replacement 3.5 V6 LX5

Removal Procedure

    NOTICE: When adding coolant, it is important that you use GM Goodwrench DEX-COOL® or HAVOLINE® DEX-COOL® coolant. If Coolant other than DEX-COOL® or HAVOLINE® DEX-COOL® is added to the system the engine coolant will require change sooner; at 50 000 km (30,000 mi) or 24 months.

  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield cover.

  2. Object Number: 308963  Size: SH
  3. Remove the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  4. Partially drain the coolant from the cooling system. . Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  5. Remove the throttle body heater outlet hose clamp (2) from the throttle body heater outlet hose on the surge tank inlet hose pipe.
  6. Disconnect the throttle body heater outlet hose (1) from the surge tank inlet hose pipe (3).

  7. Object Number: 308958  Size: SH
  8. Remove the throttle body heater clamp from the throttle body.
  9. Disconnect the throttle body heater outlet hose from the throttle body.
  10. Remove the throttle body heater outlet hose.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 308958  Size: SH
  1. Install the throttle body heater outlet hose.
  2. Connect the throttle body heater outlet hose to the throttle body.
  3. Install the throttle body heater outlet hose clamp to the throttle body.

  4. Object Number: 308963  Size: SH
  5. Connect the throttle body heater outlet hose to the surge tank inlet hose pipe.
  6. Connect the throttle body heater outlet hose (1) to the surge tank inlet hose pipe (3).
  7. Fill the cooling system with engine coolant. Refer to Cooling System Draining and Filling .
  8. Install the throttle body air inlet duct. Refer to Air Cleaner Inlet Duct Replacement .
  9. Install the fuel injector sight shield cover. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.5L.
  10. Inspect the system for leaks.
