Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 289014  Size: SH
  1. Remove the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .

  2. Object Number: 293272  Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2) from the MAP sensor (1).
  4. Remove the hose (4) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid (3).
  5. Remove the electrical connector (5) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.

  6. Object Number: 293273  Size: SH
  7. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve bolt (1).
  8. Remove the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3) from the intake manifold (1).

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 293273  Size: SH
  1. Install the EVAP canister purge solenoid valve (3) to the intake manifold (1).
  2. Install the EVAP canister purge (2) solenoid valve bolt.
  3. Refer to the

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

    Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  4. Install the hose (4) at the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  5. Install the electrical connector (5) to the EVAP canister purge solenoid.
  6. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector (2) to the MAP sensor (1).

  7. Object Number: 289014  Size: SH
  8. Install the injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement .
  9. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 3  N·m (27 lb in).
