The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is mounted to the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve cover.

Removal Procedure

    Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to the vehicle or its components.

  1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
  2. Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.

  3. Object Number: 12346  Size: SH
  4. Carefully bend the locking tabs holding the MAP sensor (1) to the PCV valve cover (2) just enough to remove the MAP sensor.
  5. Pull the MAP sensor straight out of the PCV valve cover.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 12346  Size: SH
  1. Ensure that the seal is installed on the MAP sensor and that the seal is not damaged.
  2. Position and install the MAP sensor (1) to the PCV valve cover. Ensure that the locking tabs engage in order to hold the MAP sensor to the PCV valve cover (2).
  3. Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
  4. Connect the negative battery cable.
