The manifold absolute pressure (MAP) sensor is mounted
to the positive crankcase ventilation (PCV) valve cover.
Removal Procedure
Caution: Unless directed otherwise, the ignition and start switch must be in the OFF or LOCK position, and all electrical loads must be OFF before servicing
any electrical component. Disconnect the negative battery cable to prevent an electrical spark should a tool or equipment come in contact with an exposed electrical terminal. Failure to follow these precautions may result in personal injury and/or damage to
the vehicle or its components.
- Disconnect
the negative battery cable.
- Disconnect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
- Carefully bend the locking
tabs holding the MAP sensor (1) to the PCV valve cover (2) just
enough to remove the MAP sensor.
- Pull the MAP sensor straight out of the PCV valve cover.
Installation Procedure
- Ensure that the seal is
installed on the MAP sensor and that the seal is not damaged.
- Position and install the MAP sensor (1) to the PCV valve
cover. Ensure that the locking tabs engage in order to hold the MAP sensor
to the PCV valve cover (2).
- Connect the MAP sensor electrical connector.
- Connect the negative battery cable.
