Accumulator and 2-1 Manual Servo Replacement 3.5L Twin Cam V6 LX5
Removal Procedure
- Remove the oil pan. Refer to
Oil Pan Replacement
.
- Remove the filter. Refer to
Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement
.
- Remove the accumulator attaching bolts (131).
- Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).
- Remove the accumulator (132).
- Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover (104).
- Remove the manual 2-1
band servo (106-116).
- Remove the manual 2-1 band servo cover gasket (105) from the case.
- To disassemble, inspect and service the accumulator and manual
2-1 band servo, refer to Transmission/Transaxle/Transfer Case Unit Repair
Manual.
Installation Procedure
- Install the manual 2-1
band servo (106-116).
- Install the manual 2-1 band servo cover gasket (105) into the
case.
- Install the manual 2-1 band servo cover (104).
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the manual
2-1 band servo cover bolts (103).
Tighten
Tighten the manual 2-1 band servo cover bolts (103) to 24 N·m
(17 lb ft).
- Install the accumulator (132).
- Install the accumulator attaching bolts (131).
Tighten
Tighten the accumulator attaching bolts (131) to 11 N·m
(97 lb in).
- If removed, install a new filter seal.
- Install the filter. Refer to
Automatic Transmission Fluid Filter and Seal Replacement
.
- Install the oil pan. Refer to
Oil Pan Replacement
.
