Power Steering Hoses Replacement 3.5L V6 LX5
Removal Procedure
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose from the power steering return line.
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Remove the tire and wheel assembly.Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose that connects the power steering return line to the power steering cooler pipe.
Installation Procedure
Install the rubber section of the power steering return hose that connects the power steering return line to the power steering cooler pipe.
Tighten
Tighten the power steering return hose clamps to 27 N·m (20 lb ft).
Install the tire and wheel assembly.Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels.
Lower the vehicle.
Install the rubber section of the power steering return hose that connects the power steering return line to the power steering pump.
Fill the power steering system with power steering fluid. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid
.
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
.
Inspect the system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
.

Removal Procedure
Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to
Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle
Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any fluid that may drain.
Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
in Tires and Wheels
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering cooler pipe.
Remove the rubber section of the power steering return hose.
Installation Procedure
Install the rubber section of the power steering return hose to the power steering pump and the power steering cooler pipe.
Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to
Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation
Lower the vehicle.
Fill the power steering system. Refer to
Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid
Bleed the power steering system. Refer to
Power Steering System Bleeding
Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to
Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.
