Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3.5L V6 LX5

Removal Procedure


    Object Number: 525114  Size: SH
  1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
  2. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly.Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels.
  5. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
  6. Lower the vehicle.
  7. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering hose retainer on the engine.
  8. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
  9. Remove the power steering return hose from the retaining clip that holds the power steering pressure line and the power steering return line together.
  10. Remove the power steering return hose from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 525114  Size: SH
  1. Position the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering return hose to the retaining clip that holds the power steering pressure line and the power steering return line together.
  3. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  4. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  5. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
  6. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering hose retainer on the engine.
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Fill the power steering system. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  9. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  10. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks
  11. Remove the drain pan from under the vehicle.

Power Steering Return Hose Replacement 3800

Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
  2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
  3. Place a drain pan under the vehicle in order to catch any draining power steering fluid.
  4. Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels

  5. Object Number: 294335  Size: SH
  6. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering gear cooler pipe.
  7. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering pump.
  8. Remove the power steering return hose from the power steering hose retainer.
  9. Remove the power steering return hose from the vehicle..

Installation Procedure

  1. Position the power steering return hose to the vehicle.
  2. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering hose retainer.

  3. Object Number: 294335  Size: SH
  4. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering pump.
  5. Install the power steering return hose to the power steering gear cooler pipe.
  6. Install the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to Tire and Wheel Removal and Installation in Tires and Wheels
  7. Lower the vehicle.
  8. Install the drive belt. Refer to Drive Belt Replacement in Engine Mechanical-3.8L.
  9. Fill the power steering fluid reservoir. Refer to Checking and Adding Power Steering Fluid .
  10. Bleed the power steering system. Refer to Power Steering System Bleeding .
  11. Inspect the power steering system for leaks. Refer to Power Steering Gear and Pump Leaks .
