- Connect a scan tool to the Data Link Connector (DLC).
- Using scan tool, monitor the park brake switch input.
- While observing the scan tool, apply and then release the park
brake.
Does the scan tool indicate that the park brake input is on while the
park brake is applied?

- Apply the park brake.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Disconnect the scan tool from the DLC.
- Disconnect the BCM connector C1.
- Using a test light, connect between B+ and the BCM connector C1
terminal D5.

- Disconnect the scan tool from the DLC.
- Turn the ignition switch off.
- Reconnect connectors/components removed.
- Apply the park brake.
- Step firmly and hold the brake pedal.
- Start the engine.
- While shifting the transaxle into DRIVE, listen to the chime.
- Shift the transaxle into PARK.
- Turn the engine off.
Did the BCM sound the park brake reminder when the transaxle was shifted
into DRIVE with the park brake applied?
