DEFINITION: The I/P compartment lamp does not turn on when the I/P compartment is open.

Check I/P compartment bulb filament .

Is the I/P compartment lamp bulb filament open?

Go to Step 4

  1. Disconnect the I/P compartment lamp electrical connector.
  2. Using a test light, connect between B+ and the I/P compartment lamp harness connector terminal B.

Is the test light on?

Go to Step 3

  1. Turn the ignition switch form off to on.
  2. Using a test light, connect between the I/P compartment lamp harness connector terminal A and ground.

Is the test lamp on?

Go to Step 6

Replace the I/P compartment lamp bulb. Refer to Bulb Usage for bulb specification.

Is the repair complete?

--

System OK

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 1450.

Is the repair complete?

Replace the I/P compartment lamp. Refer to Instrument Panel Compartment Lamp Switch Replacement in Instrument Panel, Gauges and Console.

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 1732.

  1. Turn the ignition switch off.
  2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
  3. Check for BCM DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying in Body Control System.

Are there any DTCs stored in the BCM?
