DEFINITION: The rear compartment courtesy lamp does not turn on when the rear compartment lid is open.

Check the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb filament.

Is the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb filament open?

1. Disconnect the rear compartment courtesy lamp electrical connector.
2. Turn the ignition switch from off to on.
3. Using a test light, backprobe between the rear compartment courtesy lamp terminal A and ground.

Is the test light on?

1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch electrical connector.
2. Using a test light, connect between B+ and the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch harness connector terminal A.

Is the test lamp on?

Go to Step 4

1. Connect a test light between B+ and the rear compartment lamp terminal B.
2. Connect a 10A fused jumper between the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch harness connector terminals A and B.

Is the test light on?

Replace the rear compartment courtesy lamp bulb. Refer to Bulb Usage for bulb specification.

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 1732.

Replace the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch.

Repair poor connection or open in circuit 737.

1. Turn the ignition switch off.
2. Reinstall the connectors/components removed.
3. Check for BCM DTCs. Refer to Diagnostic Trouble Code (DTC) Displaying in Body Control System.
