DEFINITION: The rear compartment courtesy lamp stays on when the rear compartment lid is closed.

However, the inadvertent load (battery rundown) protection turns off the rear compartment courtesy lamp after 20 minutes.

Check the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch for proper contact and interface with the rear compartment lid.

1. Disconnect the rear compartment lid ajar indicator switch.
2. Observe the rear compartment courtesy lamp.
