Removal Procedure

    Object Number: 289014 Size: SH
  1. Remove the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.

    2. Object Number: 293272 Size: SH
  2. Remove the hose (4) from the EVAP canister purge valve (3).
  3. Disconnect the electrical connector (5) from the EVAP canister purge valve.

  4. Remove the bolt (1) retaining the EVAP canister purge valve .
  5. Remove the EVAP canister purge valve (3) from the intake manifold (1).

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 293273 Size: SH
  1. Position the EVAP canister purge valve (3) into the intake manifold (1).

    2. Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  2. Install the EVAP canister purge valve retaining bolt.

    3. Tighten
    Tighten the bolt to 10 N·m (88 lb in).

  3. Connect the EVAP canister purge hose (4).
  4. Connect the EVAP canister purge valve electrical connector (5).

  5. Install the fuel injector sight shield. Refer to Fuel Injector Sight Shield Replacement in Engine Mechanical.
