The air induction system provides contaminant and sound filtration of the outside air as the air is drawn into the engine. A remotely mounted air cleaner prevents contaminants in the air from entering the engine. The air cleaner assembly (4) also acts as a resonator to reduce any air induction noise. The filtered air then enters the engine by flowing through the intake air duct (3), the throttle body (1), into the intake manifold, through the cylinder head intake ports, and finally into the cylinders.
