Removal Procedure
- Remove the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gauges, and Console.
- Remove the bolts from the radio.
- Pull the radio toward you.
- Disconnect the electrical/audio connector from the rear of the radio.
- Disconnect the coaxial cable from the rear of the radio.
- Remove the radio from the instrument panel.
Installation Procedure
- Connect the coaxial cable to the rear of the radio.
- Connect the electrical/audio connector to the rear of the radio.
- Install the radio to the instrument panel.
Important: If the radio locator tab is difficult to align to the IP locator opening,
pull the radio toward you and reposition the antenna cable.
- Align the radio locator tab to the IP locator opening while pressing
the radio into the instrument panel until fully seated.
Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners
must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring
replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant
are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or
corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified.
These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage
the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when
installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.
- Install the bolts to the
radio.
Tighten
Tighten the radio bolts to 3 N·m (25 lb in).
- Install the instrument panel accessory trim plate. Refer to
Instrument Panel Accessory Trim Plate Replacement
in Instrument
Panel, Gauges and Console.
