Inspect the HI BLOWER fuse in the fuse block.

Is the HI BLOWER fuse open?

Inspect for a short to ground in circuit 40 (ORN). Refer to Testing for Short to Ground in Wiring Systems.

Is a short to ground in the circuit?

Locate and repair the short to ground in circuit 40 (ORN). Refer to Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning .

  1. Disconnect the blower motor resistor.
  2. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the blower motor resistor harness connector terminal G and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the ON position.
  2. Place the heater-A/C control in the VENT position.
  3. Place the blower switch in the HI position.
  4. Use a test lamp in order to backprobe between the blower motor resistor harness connector terminal F and ground.

Does the test lamp light?

Replace the blower motor resistor. Refer to Blower Motor Resistor Replacement in Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning .

  1. Turn the ignition switch to the OFF position.
  2. Disconnect the heater-A/C control connector C1.
  3. Inspect for poor connection, an open, or a short to ground in circuit 52 (ORN) between the heater-A/C control harness connector C1 terminal C and the blower motor resistor harness connector terminal F.

Is an open or short to ground in the circuit?

Locate and repair the fault in circuit 52 (ORN). Refer to Circuit Testing in Wiring Systems.

Replace the heater-A/C control. Refer to Control Assembly Replacement .
