Removal Procedure

  1. Remove the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
  2. Remove the rear bumper energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .

  3. Object Number: 364008  Size: SH
  4. Support the exhaust system.
  5. Remove the tailpipe to rear bumper impact bar insulators.

  6. Object Number: 181814  Size: SH
  7. Remove the rear bumper impact bar to the body bolts.

  8. Object Number: 364020  Size: SH
  9. Remove the rear bumper impact bar from the body.

Installation Procedure


    Object Number: 364020  Size: SH
  1. Install the rear bumper impact bar to the body.

  2. Object Number: 181814  Size: SH

    Notice: Use the correct fastener in the correct location. Replacement fasteners must be the correct part number for that application. Fasteners requiring replacement or fasteners requiring the use of thread locking compound or sealant are identified in the service procedure. Do not use paints, lubricants, or corrosion inhibitors on fasteners or fastener joint surfaces unless specified. These coatings affect fastener torque and joint clamping force and may damage the fastener. Use the correct tightening sequence and specifications when installing fasteners in order to avoid damage to parts and systems.

  3. Install the rear bumper impact bar to body bolts.
  4. Tighten
    Tighten the bolts to 25 N·m (18 lb ft).

  5. Install the rear bumper impact bar to tailpipe insulators.
  6. Remove the exhaust system support.
  7. Install the rear bumper energy absorber. Refer to Rear Energy Absorber Replacement .
  8. Install the rear bumper fascia. Refer to Rear Bumper Fascia Replacement .
