  1. Disconnect the FORE/AFT power seat motor connector.
  2. Connect a test light between the power seat forward directional feed of the motor connector to B+.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 4

  1. Connect a test light between the power seat forward directional feed of the motor connector to a good ground.
  2. Press and hold the power seat switch in the forward direction.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 5

Connect a test light between the power seat rearward directional feed of the motor connector to B+.

Does the test light illuminate?

Go to Step 6

  1. Connect a test light between the power seat rearward directional feed of the motor connector to a good ground.
  2. Press and hold the power seat switch in the rearward direction.

Does the test light illuminate?

Inspect for poor connections at the FORE/AFT power seat motor connector. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power seat forward directional feed for a high resistance or an open. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Inspect the power seat forward directional feed for poor a connection at the power seat switch. Refer to Testing for Intermittent Conditions and Poor Connections and Connector Repairs in Wiring Systems.

Test the power seat forward directional feed for a short to ground. Refer to Circuit Testing and Wiring Repairs in Wiring Systems.
