Removal Procedure
  1. Disconnect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
  2. Remove the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.

    3. Object Number: 513051 Size: SH
  3. Disconnect the battery positive cable.

    4. Object Number: 513047 Size: SH
  4. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).
  5. Remove the battery hold down retainer (2).

    6. Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during removal.

  6. Remove the battery (3).

    7. Object Number: 201375 Size: SH
  7. Remove the battery insulator from the battery.

Installation Procedure

    Object Number: 201375 Size: SH
  1. Install the battery insulator to the battery.

    2. Object Number: 513047 Size: SH

    Important: Do not tip the battery more than 40 degrees during installation.

  2. Install the battery (3).
  3. Install the battery hold down retainer (2).
  4. Remove the battery hold down retainer bolt (1).

    5. Tighten
    Tighten the battery hold down retainer bolt to 18 N·m (13 lb  ft).

  5. Connect the battery positive cable to the battery.

    6. Tighten
    Tighten the battery positive cable bolt to 15 N·m (11 lb  ft).

  6. Install the right front diagonal brace. Refer to Front End Sheet Metal Diagonal Brace Replacement in Body Front End.
  7. Connect the battery negative cable. Refer to Battery Negative Cable Disconnection and Connection .
